possibilities
light as spring
fragrant air
of attraction
riding on a breeze
and with a word
it can ease
into a mind
and bloom
like spring
blossoming
for a moment
into a mind

she sees the moment
frozen in time
in her mind
like dust in the air
the rhythm
without rhyme
two bodies entwine
in the space
of a song
and it doesn’t
seem wrong
she dreams of more
going back
to the dance floor
to be close
to her for
one more song

building castles
in the sand
making a promised land
of hearts aligned
or sleight of hand
eyes divine
with love
the kind
to take
my breath away
or was it
just a dream
imagined on the ebb
of tide
when all was fine
before the waves
came crashing in
slowly melt
my heart to sand
the castle fades
back to the sea
and she
melts
away from me
behind a wall
of steel
so silently
and our hearts
weep as softly
as the sand
into the sea

vastness
of space
swallow me
from the edge
of my galaxy
cosmic dust
refracting light
and draw me closer
to my satellite
stuck in an infinite loop
of elliptical spin
never closing in
or breaking free

light falls
in the window
of my heart
warming corners
and smoothing
rough spots
mending the cracks
that bear
her name
light calls
to the song
in my soul
dancing
to a rhythm
as old as me
light smiles
upon my face
warming skin
and me within
soothing sorrow
til only
memory remains

mist of mine
rise to the moon
and meet my mind
in time
and rhythm
of wandering
foot falls
chasing ghosts
into shadows
no more

only the echo
stands to
raise my fear
amongst
the clouds
restless
until
the key
calls to me
on feathered wing
for being
who i see
and living
who i’ll be
and so
the path
through
towering trees
eases
suddenly
yielding
for the love
of me

speaking
without sound
my heart pounds
and words fall
like leaves
on the ground
crunching
underfoot
as solitude
presses down
then question
heart’s resolve
and count stars
falling
from my mouth
silently pleading
for your ear
do you hear
my heart call
as my words fall
where you
can’t see at all
the ember dying
as i am lying
a heap
on the ground
with tears
i’m crying
mixing with words
spoken not aloud
not allowed
to speak my heart
and so the silence
has me falling
falling apart
pieces on the ground
me and my heart
and words not allowed
not aloud
speak not spoken
til hearts broken
speeches on the ground
